Lizzy Willits is a visual artist who explores the depths of the mind, memory loss, and the process of perception by combining sculpture and photography. She also enjoys working with and teaching CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery and Adobe design software to children.
She is a student at George Mason University in the School of Art and is scheduled to graduate in 2018 with a BFA in photography. She was recognized for her significant academic achievement by securing a place on the College of Visual and Performing Arts Dean’s List for 2017 and 2018.
Lizzy also received recognition for her entries to the Light Space & Time, "Patterns" Art Exhibition for 2017. She was a winner of the "Special Merit Category" as well as the "Special Recognition Category" for photography.
Currently, Lizzy is working with presence and the perceptual experience. She is inspired by the work of Robert Irwin, John Cage, and Andy Goldsworthy. She hopes to work directly with nature to produce ephemeral, site-specific work that will be photographed and presented in the fall of 2018.
